Radiant is an El-Segundo, CA-based clean energy startup building a nuclear microreactor. A climate-friendly alternative to diesel generators, Radiant's Kaleidos 1MW microreactor will be the world's first portable, zero-emissions power source that works anywhere. We plan to test our development reactor by 2026 and if successful, it will be the first new commercial reactor design to achieve a fueled test in over 50 years. Radiant's goal is to bring one of the world's first factory-constructed microreactors to market. Our microreactor can bring power to remote parts of the world and provide backup power for life-saving applications in hospitals or disaster-relief scenarios.
Reliability Manager
Radiant is seeking a leader to oversee our Reliability team. In this role, you will be responsible for building a culture of quality and ensuring consistent execution of programs and procedures to support the mass production and refueling of Kaleidos, including compliance with NQA-1 and ASME BPVC Section III. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hardware production environment and understand that controls need to be built directly into production processes and not come later as static checks after the fact. This role will require you to constantly ask “what is the right way to do this” and never settle for “how has it always been done.”
Responsibilities And Duties
Work directly with engineering and production with a focus on hardware to streamline builds while reducing variation and non-conformances.
Own and manage Radiant’s quality program, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards while maintaining a lean program.
Manage the corrective action program to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of quality issues.
Maintain and oversee ASME certifications, including N-stamp and other relevant accreditations.
Lead internal walkdowns and self-reviews to verify compliance with QA requirements.
Foster and drive a positive QA culture across all teams.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying trends, and leveraging lessons learned to enhance QA processes.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an engineering, physics, or quality assurance discipline.
Minimum 5 years of technical experience (engineering design, quality, reliability, production) in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working under a certified quality program (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
Desired Skills And Qualifications
10+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Direct responsibility for owning or implementing quality assurance requirements.
Experience in a leadership or managerial role.
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, within a QA framework.
Experience in auditing suppliers and/or source inspection at supplier facilities.
Familiarity with the Code of Federal Regulations, NQA-1, or ASME certification processes is a plus.

Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.
Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
