Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Laboratory Engineer for our new factory in Columbus, Ohio. This role is pivotal in implementing both company and regulatory quality standards for product manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience in industry and governmental quality regulations, be able to audit and review quality data in line with our protocols and will take responsibility in ensuring that results are documented appropriately. This position reports directly to the manager. The Lab Engineer will be integral to our mission of establishing a top-tier production facility in central Ohio.
Responsibilities: (These are more Tech. Responsibilities)
Lead and manage daily testing operations within the laboratory.
Manage production of and documentation for standards: solar modules.
Adapt, develop, and implement written standards and protocols for testing which will enable accreditation of the Illuminate USA laboratory.
Help with laboratory visits and other customer service duties relating to the laboratory.
Assist with regular maintenance activities for all laboratory equipment.
Help with the update and maintenance of laboratory and testing system documents, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and other relevant guidelines.
Fulfill any additional responsibilities or tasks as delegated by superiors.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree (in engineering or science) or above or more than 4 years of quality assurance work with direct experience in testing and familiarity with standards compliance.
Must have experience with either testing in a quality assurance role or with data acquisition (using instrumentation) in a laboratory role. Experience in Solar, Automotive, or Semi-conductor electronics is preferred.
Must be keen to learn, able to adapt to changing responsibilities/tasks, and eager to take ownership of responsibilities.
Must have knowledge of production safety and lean production techniques or experience working under strict standards of safety.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 17025 standards is advantageous.
