RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Serve as a key driver of operational improvements by analyzing plant reliability, productivity, and downtime data to identify recurring issues and lead cross-functional teams in developing sustainable solutions. Recommend and engineer upgrades to address equipment design flaws and inefficiencies.


  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive vibration analysis-based predictive maintenance program. Through research, training, collaboration with the maintenance team, and applied expertise, establish a system capable of detecting early signs of equipment failure. Expand the program to include precision alignment and balancing of equipment.


  • Contribute to the plant's capital planning process by providing data-driven recommendations and technical input to support successful project execution. Demonstrate strong facilitation, project management, and problem-solving capabilities from concept through completion.


  • Develop project estimates and budgets, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and ensure projects are completed within scope, schedule, and cost parameters. Foster effective collaboration with plant operations and maintenance teams.


  • Act as a technical resource to both operations and maintenance teams, delivering solutions to recurring problems and areas of excessive maintenance costs. Leverage cross-functional resources to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.


  • Identify improvement opportunities using equipment performance metrics, reliability statistics, and long-term maintenance cost data. Secure funding for projects through maintenance or capital budgets.


  • Provide input for the development of the annual maintenance budget and contribute to strategic planning efforts within the maintenance department.


  • May assume supervisory responsibilities as needed and participate in the on-call rotation to address urgent mechanical issues.


  • Model strong leadership, teamwork, customer orientation, continuous improvement, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship to support company goals.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial environment
  • Cement industry experience is a plus
  • Proficient in both predictive and preventive maintenance practices
  • Strong background in maintenance with a focus on reliability improvement
  • Advanced computer skills: CAD experience preferred
  • Effective communicator at all organizational levels
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on achieving organizational objectives
  • Must be physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in confined or challenging environments
  • Plant conditions include exposure to dust, noise, and potential hazards
