Purpose:
As a Senior Reimbursement Analyst, you'll lead complex financial analysis projects, mentor junior analysts, and serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare reimbursement. Your work will directly influence UPMC's financial strategy and compliance with government regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Lead Financial & Government Audits: Manage and respond to third-party and government audits with confidence and accuracy.
* Stay Ahead of Regulations: Monitor and interpret evolving government reimbursement regulations, applying insights to cost reporting and compliance documentation.
* Drive Strategic Analysis: Conduct sensitivity studies and evaluate reimbursement potential for new services-delivering actionable recommendations to leadership.
* Champion Revenue Enhancement: Spearhead initiatives like Disproportionate Share, IME, GME, Wage Index, Transplants, and Physician programs-key drivers of UPMC's financial success.
* Master Cost Report Software: Ensure efficient, accurate use of cost report tools and maintain version backups for audit and appeal readiness.
* Ensure Financial Integrity: Analyze CRA accounts and interim payment rates, identifying discrepancies and submitting updates to third-party payers.
* Lead & Mentor: Supervise multiple projects and staff, while training and supporting Associate and Intermediate Analysts.
* Support System-Wide Reporting: Prepare third-party cost reports and assist reimbursement teams across UPMC facilities.
* Audit Defense & Appeals: Review audit adjustments, prepare appeals, and craft persuasive position papers to protect UPMC's financial interests.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
* Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
* OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of related work experience.
* Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required, and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
