Position Summary
The
Regional Training Manager - Field works as part of a team to drive results in the areas of people development, culture, operations, sales, and growth. They are responsible for coordinating training within an assigned region, including the execution of the Manager in Training (MIT) program, the development and certification of Certified Training Venues and its associates, the execution and understanding of all operational training programs, providing field support for company initiatives, and supporting the execution of New Venue Openings (NVOs). The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator and skilled communicator who can support and develop impactful programs that empower our leaders to excel. Effectively & consistently teach, coach and model Puttshack’s core values and culture standards.
Location: This is a hybrid position, including 3 days onsite at our Home Office in Chicago (River North), IL.
Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To
- Coordinates & prepares for all MITs by partnering with local market leadership.
- Track the progress of MITs, follow up on program milestones, and provide necessary feedback to ensure development and performance expectations are met.
- Deliver training modules, workshops, and materials for Managers in Training (MIT) and existing leadership associates, focusing on key leadership competencies as well as teach Puttshack standards in areas such as guest service, food safety, operational procedures, and systems.
- Collaborate with the Operations and HR teams to develop, implement, and refine training strategies that align with the company's objectives and uphold its reputation for excellence.
- Design and deliver engaging leadership training programs that encompass various aspects of leadership, including communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking.
- Support the development training materials, resources, and tools to support leadership development initiatives, including e-learning modules, workshops, and coaching guides.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of leadership training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, and make necessary adjustments to continuously improve outcomes.
- Provide timely and relevant feedback to trainees and leaders
- Oversee the organization of training events, including scheduling, coordination, venue selection, and participant communications.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to emerging leaders, offering personalized guidance to help them reach their potential.
- Organize and lead training sessions, both on-site and remotely, to ensure consistent training standards across multiple locations.
- Responsible for the certification and re-certification of Certified Training Venues.
- Facilitates on-site training for New Venue Openings (NVO) and provides NVO milestone feedback and coordinates support at the 15-45-75-day mark.
- Leads Field Training efforts for special projects.
- Stay current with trends in leadership development, adult learning, and instructional design, and apply this knowledge to enhance training content and methodologies.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and leadership growth within the organization.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Training Manager, Leadership Development Manager, or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of leadership theories, coaching methodologies, and adult learning principles.
- Experienced in project management and/or program management related to company-wide training initiatives.
- Experienced in cross-functional partnership and company-wide communication.
- Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training material creation.
- Skilled in conducting training needs analysis.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of creativity and innovation in designing engaging training content.
- Experienced in Learning Management System optimization and reporting.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time between assigned venues and meetings and have flexibility in scheduling to include weekends, holidays and evenings as needed.
- This position must pass a post-offer background check.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Direct experience in company-wide Talent Management initiatives.
- Certifications such as ServSafe, TIPS, or equivalent are a plus.
- Professional certification in training, coaching, or leadership development is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel by plane to different restaurant locations is required.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30lbs may be necessary for training materials and equipment setup.
- Standing for extended periods during training sessions and workshops.
- Sitting for administrative tasks and documentation purposes.
