Regional Store Manager Job Description

Overview

The Regional Store Manager, will be responsible to open and oversee a first location with the potential to oversee two store locations, ensuring each meets operational, financial, and service‑excellence standards. This hands‑on leader mentors Assistant Store Managers, supports day‑to‑day operations, and partners with corporate leadership to drive consistent performance and growth across the region.

To maximize the success of two stores by:

  • Providing effective leadership and development to Assistant Store Managers
  • Ensuring seamless daily operations and compliance with quality standards
  • Driving profitability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement

Principle Roles and Responsibilities


Operational Management

  • Lead and support daily operations in both stores, troubleshooting issues and reinforcing best practices
  • Conduct regular in‑store audits (health & safety, quality, compliance) in collaboration with Assistant Store Managers
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures to ensure consistency


Financial Management

  • Consolidate and analyze weekly and monthly P&L reports for both stores
  • Assist in sales forecasting, budgeting, and expense control to meet profitability targets
  • Partner with teams to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and manage vendor relationships


Leadership & Staff Development

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate Assistant Store Managers; provide coaching and performance feedback
  • Coordinate cross‑store communication to share successes, challenges, and best practices
  • Develop staffing plans, oversee recruitment, and support training initiatives to build high‑performing teams


Guest Experience

  • Champion exceptional guest service standards and monitor customer‑feedback channels
  • Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and professionally
  • Support localized marketing, community engagement, and in‑store promotions to enhance brand loyalty


Strategic Growth Initiatives

  • Collaborate with Director of Operations on regional roll‑out of corporate strategies
  • Identify and execute local growth opportunities—partnerships, events, promotions, merchandising
  • Track competitive activity and market trends; recommend operational or strategic adjustments


Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to food‑safety protocols (HACCP, Food Handler Certification), workplace safety, and employment regulations
  • Oversee regular safety and compliance inspections; drive corrective action on findings
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislative changes and integrate requirements into store practices


Key Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in retail or food service management, including 2+ years overseeing multiple units or dual‑store operations
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Financial Acumen: Proven P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control skills
  • Operational Expertise: Hands‑on proficiency with POS, inventory, and workforce‑scheduling systems
  • Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certification; HACCP certification preferred
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and leading multi‑location teams
  • Customer Focus: Exceptional service orientation, with a track record of driving guest satisfaction
  • Communication: Strong verbal/written skills; ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Adaptability: Resilient problem‑solver who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly between two store locations


Working Conditions

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
  • Exposure to hot environments, typical of a bakery
  • Regular travel between stores (company vehicle or mileage reimbursement provided)
