Position Overview:

 

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) Central US is responsible for the day-to-day sales management efforts for the central United States including the states of ND, SD, MN, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH, KY, NE, KS, MO, WV, NE, CO and Western PA. The RSM- Central US is responsible for the management of the sales distribution network within assigned territory to foster the achievement of business growth and revenue goals for its line of pressure, temperature, and viscosity measurement devices.  Works closely with the Director of Sales- Americas to recruit, hire, train and evaluate and develop new sales agents, distributors and develop new sales channels throughout the territory and maintain strong relationships with the customer base as well as the distribution network. 

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Directly responsible for meeting the established sales budget for new order bookings and revenue at acceptable gross margins within the region
  • Develop sales channels within the region that are capable of sustained and profitable growth
  • Develop proper sales metrics, strategies, and programs to ensure their distribution team meets the required budgets and business development growth goals
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasts of expected business results to achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with customers within the region and with all sales channel partners
  • Manage sales channel partners’ activities to drive profitability within the region
  • Provide commercial and technical leadership within the region for Dynisco Plastics and Industrial Segments
  • Coordinate all regional training and marketing activities, including analysis of sales statistics within the region
  • Provide recommendations for stocking levels required to support sales growth within the region
  • Make field sales calls with local agents to evaluate and monitor results
  • Coordinate the sales activities and strategies of the business within the region as necessary
  • Work effectively with peers within the business to manage the growth and flow of business


 

 

 

 

Technical & Management Skills:

  • Experience selling technical products in a business environment and the ability to learn about and promote technical products
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, operation manuals etc.
  • Proficient in business-based software: CRM, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP


 

Language Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with various customer disciplines and other sales professionals, senior management, and internal peers in a highly cooperative manner
  • Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues globally
  • Proficiency in other languages a plus


 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Strong ability to mine data from a variety of sources, consolidate it, and provide interpretations and executive summaries of the data with focus on how to improve sales operational activities.


 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel from 50-75% of the time


Other Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Polymer Markets (Extrusion, Injection and Blow molding)
  • Knowledge of regionally based sales channels
  • Market knowledge within the industrial segments within assigned territory
  • Proven sales background


 

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Required.  
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in technical sales and distribution or agent management
