General Description

This position provides services to external constituents of Northern Virginia Community College focusing on the development, coordination, and implementation of innovative recruiting programs and events. This position is part of the Employer Engagement and Career Services team, and reports to the Recruiting Programs Manager.

Duties And Tasks

  • Work with employers and external organizations to develop and implement recruiting opportunities and programs using Career Connection and other tools that promote College-wide access.
  • Create and maintain relationships with Career Counselors, College staff, and faculty to leverage direct access and promotion of recruiting opportunities and events to all students.
  • Manages Career Connection modules, including calendar, events, and supports other efforts for cross training.
  • Make regular requests from employees for updates and input on college decisions and share feedback with supervisors for inclusion in the NOVA Brief.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with multiple constituent groups.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, EXCEL, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects independently
  • Ability to develop and prepare reports
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers
  • Attention to detail and ability to take initiative

Required Qualifications: Additional Considerations

  • Customer service experience.
  • General administrative support experience.
  • Experience in conducting and coordinating recruiting and/or career services events.
  • Experience in event management.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis

  • Experience using a career services management system, preferably Symplicity.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations.
  • Experience in conducting and coordinating events.

Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel

This position requires travel between campuses often, as well as the ability to transport event equipment or coordinate event equipment transportation. With occasional evening events.
