Summary

JOB General Function: Responsible for conducting a variety of planned recreational activities and events at the City’s summer camp program such as sports, field trips, games, and arts and crafts. Work includes a variety of tasks that require the application of independent judgment and knowledge of regulations and procedures set by policy.Reports To: Summer Recreation Aide IIParks & Fields Specialist ISupervisory Responsibilities: None EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts and/or directs planned recreational program activities at Summer Camp. Transports children in 15 passenger van to various parks and locations during Summer Camp.May assist in the maintenance and care of recreation center property.May assist with the planning and coordinating of recreational activities.Ensures the safety of assigned equipment and participants. Including performing first aid. Training/Certification will be provided.May prepare reports, spreadsheets, surveys, and/or special recreation project work as requested.Answers telephone, screens calls, takes and relays messages and information.Greets and assists parents/children.Receive and process registration paperwork for the summer camp program.Organizes and schedules events and activities.Creates and maintains files for order and retrieval. May prepare correspondence, forms, reports, records, requisitions, memoranda and other materials.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.All of the above information is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Type of Appointment/Work hours: Part-time in-person position.Will be required to work a schedule between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday through Friday for the entire summer camp program June 9th, 2025 – August 1st, 2025.
