The ReBuild NC Case Manager will provide case management services to an assigned caseload and answers inquiries about ReBuild NC Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funded programs. The selected candidates will assist ReBuild NC prospective and current program applicants by assisting in activities related to: program eligibility, award, appeal, and other program related consultations, document collection, general status updates, and other related case management activities.

The ReBuild NC Case Manager will maintain consistent and clear communication with assigned applicants about the status of their ReBuild NC application, documentation and information needed from the applicant to process their application, and ensure the applicant understands the eligibility criteria for ReBuild NC. The selected candidate will c ollaborate with various teams within NCORR to provide solution-based responses to ReBuild NC applicant inquiries per Program policies, procedures, and federal regulations, as well as p rovide weekly updates to supervisor on work conducted, areas of assistance needed, and prepare applicant files for closeout once recovery needs are met.

To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate 4 of the 7 following KSAs:

  • Ability to evaluate and understand program regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, external and internal forms, and other program documents.
  • Skilled in working directly with applicants/clients and within a team
  • Ability to communicate complex program policies and procedures to applicants and other external parties, as needed.
  • Skilled in attention to detail, paying close attention to policy and standard operating procedure guidelines
  • Experience assessing client needs, monitoring and evaluating progress, providing continuity throughout program participation, and ensuring clients are engaged and knowledgeable of the program.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role that requires close coordination with other parts of an internal team.
  • Experience maintaining client records by compiling-detailed case notes; logging events and progress using program software.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Military Experience

  • A current member of the North Carolina National Guard in good standing must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS).
  • A former member of the North Carolina National Guard who served for at least 6 years and were discharged under honorable conditions, must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
