Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing Houston Division plant operations, staff scheduling, and facility maintenance. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and process improvement. The manager also addresses personnel matters, manages material procurement, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and plant staff.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy as needed.
  • Regularly inspects, maintains and evaluates company property.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Coordinating staffing and workflow across assigned areas.
  • Orders material/supplies as needed and performs required maintenance as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational regulations, laws, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  • Implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
  • Ability to travel to various plants and jobsites as required.
