What You'll Do
Perform routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including outpatient, emergency department, intraoperative, portable C-arm, inpatient, and fluoroscopic exams.
Provide radiology services to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
Ensure adherence to hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Complete mandatory education and comply with department policies and procedures.
Maintain current CPR certification and participate in quality improvement activities.
Provide a safe environment by using lead shielding, radiation monitoring devices, and practicing radiation safety.
Perform specialized procedures such as arthrograms, myelograms, and C-arm procedures in the OR.
Prepare contrast and barium materials for various age groups.
Assist radiologists and OB/GYNs with technical procedures.
Operate C-Arms and portable x-ray units, ensuring proper patient care and safety.
Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent and completion of formal radiologic technology training of two years.
Eligibility for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
Valid State of Rhode Island Radiographer License.
Current CPR certification.
Physical ability to stand, squat, walk, and lift over 50 lbs with good body mechanics.
Proficient in fine motor skills and able to perform frequent repetitions.
Accurate near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.
Ability to hear whispers at eight feet.
