Description

Job Summary: Creation of automation tools to help with the development and design of various types of HVAC equipment. The automation will also include utilizing parametric design modeling.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities

• Develops and programs drafting/design tools to improve efficiency within the Engineering department.
• Generates conceptual and preliminary models/drawings to be used for development of product.
• Develops and programs design tools to improve efficiency within Engineering (Automation).
• Maintains existing engineering records and designs.
• Assesses engineering designs and prototypes to determine issues or risks.
• Coordinates with other engineers, management, and the creative departments to determine design solutions.
• Communicates with the Design/Drafting teams to develop and maintain standards.
• Confers with engineering management to complete assigned projects.
• Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.
• Travels, when necessary, for product development at other AAON plants.
  
  

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Four-year Engineering/Engineering Technology degree preferred.
• Experience in computer programming using Python, VBA, C# or other programming languages.
• Experience using 3D CAD (SolidEdge preferred), as well as 2D CAD (AutoCAD/Inventor and SolidEdge preferred).
• Minimum of 1-2 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.

Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
