Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantitative Data Engineer to build and maintain the core database infrastructure for our quantitative investment research platform. You will support our team of quantitative researchers by ensuring data efficiency, availability, and reliability for investment analysis and backtesting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance quantitative database architectures to handle macroeconomic, market, and heterogeneous datasets.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for collecting, cleaning, and storing diverse financial data.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security to prevent errors that could impact research outcomes.
• Provide researchers with fast data access and retrieval mechanisms to maximize efficiency.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in data engineering and quant finance, continuously optimizing system performance.
• Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) preferred.

Experience:

• 3-5+ years of data engineering experience, preferably in finance or quantitative research environments.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL.
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
• Knowledge of database design & management (relational, NoSQL, time-series databases).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Alibaba Cloud) is a plus.

Domain Knowledge:

• Familiarity with quantitative finance and financial markets is preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with researchers and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is preferred.
