The Role
Are you passionate about driving food safety and quality standards while promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement? We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Food Safety & Quality Assurance Leader to join our team in Perth. Reporting to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, the duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS standards, customer requirements, and all relevant food safety regulations (local, national, and international).
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and implement regulatory and customer-driven standards.
- Develop, implement, and oversee food safety and quality assurance programs across all stages of production.
- Conduct internal audits, inspections, and manage corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify food safety and quality risks; develop mitigation strategies and response protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on food safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement by updating policies, procedures, and leveraging new technologies.
- Ensure controlled, accessible information management via systems like SharePoint.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives by promoting responsible environmental practices.
- Model and promote workplace safety, actively identifying and resolving hazards.
- Support a strong safety culture by adhering to and promoting safe work systems.
- Where applicable, lead teams by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and fostering accountability.
- Other ad hoc duties as per directed.
The Person
You’ll play a key role in upholding our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. To thrive in this position, you’ll bring a mix of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. You will also have the following skills and experience in;
- Degree in food safety or equivalent.
- Proven experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within the food industry.
- Strong working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
- Skilled in conducting risk assessments and driving corrective/preventative actions.
- Excellent communicator skills both verbal and written.
- Proactive, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
- A strong advocate for workplace health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
