Apply Job Type Full-time Description Con Forms seeks a process driven quality professional as a Quality Manager. The Quality Manager champions a comprehensive quality culture including setting acceptability standards, determination of the methods and means for inspection, and supplier control. This position has leadership responsibility for the Quality department and assists in the daily management of the lab. The Quality Manager will lead Con Forms in maintaining our ISO 9001 certification and ensuring ongoing compliance, as well as interface with all sister companies (today ESSER in Germany) to ensure a comparable standard is documented and maintained. RESPONSIBLITIES * Perform the lead role in internal/external auditing to ISO 9001 requirements and ensure proper execution of supporting quality system throughout all facets of the operation including closing of findings. * Ensure that the quality management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001. * Report on the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities for improvement to top management. * Ensure that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes are planned and implemented. * Lead and train the internal audit team to maintain compliance. * Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervises the department's staff to ensure quality specifications and standards are met or exceeded. * Establish and implement quality procedures and specifications, testing procedures, and minimum standards for raw materials, in-process components, and finished products. * Assist in the development of production process control procedures, ensuring creation of finished products meeting quality specifications and standards, including monitoring for continued compliance. * Analyze quality data, identify problem areas, produce quality reports, and assist in resolving manufacturing processes that affect product quality. * Lead or participate in cross-functional continuous-improvement teams to address and resolve quality issues and to improve levels of quality and productivity. * Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications in product or quality standards where warranted. Work with Design or Production Engineering to define and improve design and manufacturing processes. * Review all issues received from internal and external customers to determine root cause and recommend corrective action. Manage and maintain the company Non-Conformance Report and Returned Material Authorization programs. * Assist with the development and adherence to departmental budget; ensure maximum utilization of resources within budget constraints. * Assist in the management of the metallurgical lab, including equipment. Activities include heat treat verification, hardness testing, materials verification, and wear testing. * Assist in the creation and implementation of an effective vendor quality auditing program. Includes vendor-supplied batch information, new vendor / first article inspections, mutual interest education, and periodic on-location inspections. * Manage the calibration program for all company measurement devices used in production part verification. * Monitor the coordination with other sister factories to maintain a consistent standard amongst the group. * Lead onsite presentations on company quality standards and laboratory technology as needed. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Business, Statistics or another relevant field. * A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in quality or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment. Two years of leadership experience preferred. * Hands-on experience developing and managing company quality systems. * Extensive experience in project management and process control. * Preferred experience working with Mechanical Engineers on documentation processes such as Standard Work, LEAN, KAIZEN or other continuous improvement activities. * Exceptional analytical ability, decision making and communication skills. * Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite. * Exposure to Lean manufacturing methodology preferred. Experience in welding and heat treating ideal. Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. * Ability to perform precise measurements and basic statistical and mathematical calculations. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. * Ability to operate equipment correctly and appropriately in the Metallurgical Lab. * Regular and reliable attendance. * While on the production floor there will be exposure to noise, sparks, fumes, chemicals and changes in temperature. WORKING ENVIRONMENT * Computer/Sedentary position. * Intermittently will have to go onto the production floor resulting in exposure to loud noises, sparks, fumes, chemicals, and heavy equipment. * Position will mainly be in a temperature control office space. * The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. * Based on system or project demands, the incumbent may periodically need to work outside of regular business hours. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ WHY CON FORMS?
