The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing all quality operations at my client's facility in the Chicago area. They will lead a team of technicians to manage customer relationships, ensure compliance with AS9100, and focus on reducing defects while enhancing response times across the site.

My client is a manufacturer of precision machined components for the aerospace industry, specifically for aircraft and large machinery. They are currently experiencing growth, fueled by strong partnerships with leading OEMs in the aerospace sector. Following their recent success, they are seeking to expand their leadership team by hiring a dedicated Site Quality Manager who will drive performance and implement standardization across the organization.
Description
- Lead all quality personnel in day to day operations through work delegation, collaborative meetings, and planned scheduling
- Train and develop engineers and floor personnel
- Manage all aspects of the site Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 standards
- Lead internal AS9100 and AS13100 audits
- Manage customer relationships including weekly meetings, corrective actions, and customer satisfaction
- Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and others to maintain compliance and prepare adjustments for the product lines
- Assist with Root Cause Analysis on non-conforming parts and other arising issues
- Lead the APQP process and oversee all related aspects such as SPC, Control Plans, and FMEAs
- Identify areas for continuous improvements and leverage personal experience and six sigma techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Be a team player and assists with other tasks as needed for the good of the plan and company
Profile
- 5+ years of Quality Management experience
- Machining Experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
- Strong track record of developing talent, specifically at the engineering level
- Experience with metal manufacturing processes, specifically precision machining
- Desire to be hands-on and lead by example
Job Offer
- Base salary between $100,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
