Company Overview
We are a specialized provider of conformal coating services for printed circuit boards (PCBs), supporting mission-critical applications in the aerospace, defense, drone, and space exploration sectors. Our clients demand the highest levels of performance and reliability. We combine advanced process control, responsive service, and deep technical knowledge to deliver precision coating solutions that protect and extend the life of complex electronics.
As we pursue NASA certification and expand our footprint in high-reliability markets, we are building out a proactive, product-centric quality function that exceeds traditional compliance and sets a new standard in customer-driven excellence.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Manager who is passionate about building systems, solving problems, and elevating product quality. This role focuses heavily on product quality over compliance, and is ideal for a strong executor—someone who can diagnose problems at the bench level and partner with operations to implement real change.
The Quality Manager will act as the bridge between production and the customer, responsible for investigating quality issues, drafting responses, and developing corrective actions that prevent recurrence. They will play a key role in differentiating our offering for demanding aerospace and defense clients by establishing robust quality standards tailored to their expectations, not just industry minimums.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary product quality leader, with a focus on real-time problem-solving, defect reduction, and continuous improvement.
- Draft clear, timely, and professional responses to customer quality concerns, inquiries, and returns.
- Collaborate with production, planning, and engineering to analyze root causes and implement corrective actions that are practical and effective.
- Design and build internal quality processes, documentation, and inspection steps to enhance product performance and reduce risk.
- Drive efforts to differentiate quality expectations and controls between high-reliability (aerospace/defense) vs. consumer/industrial applications.
- Establish key product quality KPIs (e.g., first-pass yield, defect rates, rework volume) and lead regular quality review meetings.
- Train and coach production personnel on quality expectations, visual standards, and inspection techniques.
- Maintain a visible presence on the floor and take initiative in identifying and addressing process risks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of quality experience in electronics manufacturing, aerospace/defense, or coatings, with a focus on high-reliability products.
- Proven ability to build and implement product quality processes that reduce defects and improve outcomes.
- Skilled in customer communication, including writing formal quality event responses and participating in audits or technical calls.
- Hands-on experience with root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and shop-floor quality initiatives.
- Comfortable working alongside compliance functions but focused primarily on the real-world performance of the product.
- Experience supporting or working within AS9100, NASA, or IPC quality environments is a strong plus.
- Highly collaborative and action-oriented—a do’er who drives change, not just tracks metrics.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary with performance incentives
- Full health and retirement benefits
- Paid time off and holidays
- The opportunity to make a tangible impact in a high-growth, quality-first organization
