Overview

Navitas is ready to invest in you! We are seeking a Quality Engineering Intern in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will support lithium pack production by performing technical and Engineering support tasks such as testing warranty components and document updates. The intern will be assigned a project and mentored by a staff member this summer from approximately May to August.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing DOE, testing, and data collection
  • Support 8D problem solving efforts
  • Support incoming, in process, and outgoing inspections and documenting results
  • Support calibration
  • Support non-conforming material, quality improvement, and corrective/preventative action activities
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to implement approved process changes
  • Assist in process optimization studies
  • Write and help maintain work instructions, inspections forms, and process maps
  • Ensure daily 5S of work area (maintain clean and organized work areas)
  • Assist in management and analysis of production data (test data, Pareto, yield data, etc.)
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety and conduct
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Working toward engineering-related degree

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Candidates must be comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for US and ally military testing and use
  • Willingness to learn the use of inspection equipment (3D scanner, SEM, optical comparator, etc.)
  • MS office suite skills for data management and analysis (MS Excel)
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 40 pound loads several times per day
  • Ability to work in dry room / clean room environment (0 to 2% relative humidity)

ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
