Job Title: Quality Engineer (CMM, FAIRS, PPAP, GD&T, Quality Improvements) Location: CAD Enterprises Job Type: Full-time Company Overview: At CAD Enterprises we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products and ensuring the highest standards of quality. We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer with experience in CMM programming, dimensional inspections, and a strong understanding of quality engineering practices. This role requires expertise in Zeiss CMMs with Calypso software, as well as comprehensive knowledge in quality documentation, continuous improvement processes, and advanced inspection techniques. Position Overview: As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality, driving process improvements, and managing quality control activities across the manufacturing process. You will use your expertise in Zeiss CMMs with Calypso, as well as your skills in FAIRS, PPAP, Cpk, and GD&T, to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Program and operate Zeiss CMMs with Calypso software to conduct precise measurements and dimensional inspections of components and assemblies. Prepare and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and ensure they meet customer specifications. Lead and support the preparation of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation, ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Perform statistical analysis, including Cpk and other capability studies, to assess and improve process performance and product quality. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to interpret engineering drawings and develop accurate inspection plans. Drive quality improvements by identifying root causes of defects, implementing corrective actions, and enhancing manufacturing processes. Develop and maintain final inspection procedures, ensuring products meet specifications before release to customers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, customer-specific requirements, and industry standards. Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, process improvements, and quality control activities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering role, including hands-on experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software. Strong knowledge of FAIRS, PPAP, Cpk, statistical process control (SPC), and quality improvement methodologies. Proficiency in GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA). Familiarity with final inspection processes, documentation, and customer-specific requirements. Understanding of quality systems and standards, including ISO 9001. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or other quality certifications.
