Summary

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) development process for assigned programs. This role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, refining business processes, and ensuring high-quality engineering and manufacturing standards. The position requires collaboration across multiple teams to optimize product development and production.

Essential Functions

  • Lead APQP development, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
  • Oversee quality assurance aspects of new product introduction.
  • Develop and validate test methods and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and internal quality requirements.
  • Conduct quality control inspections at various production stages.
  • Work with suppliers on Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives and document new quality processes.
  • Support manufacturing activities at partner and supplier facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety and environmental policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AS9100D/IATF16949/ISO9001 standards.
  • Expertise in APQP and AS9145.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Experience using root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa).
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) processes.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • High school diploma with at least 10 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry and a multinational environment.

Background Prerequisites

  • Must meet company standards for background check, employment verification, and substance testing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
