Job Summary:

Quality Engineer plays a vital role in enhancing business processes and optimizing product efficiency. This position involves ensuring adherence to quality standards, conducting thorough testing, and implementing corrective actions to drive reliability and product excellence. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional troubleshooting abilities, capable of identifying shortcomings and implementing effective solutions

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Quality & Engineering Manager to establish, implement, and maintain the quality management system.
  • Collaborate with the Director of HR and Supply Chain Manager to establish, implement, and maintain quality procedures and policies within the building.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions, implementing corrective actions to improve processes.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives, employing methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, and others to enhance and improve the quality system.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager and Production Supervisor to assist with training production operators to foster quality and safety awareness.
  • Collaborate with Director of HR to train office personnel with quality and safety awareness. • Liaise with HR & Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Production teams to ensure new products are processed in accordance with approved customer data.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to Supply Chain Manager and Production Supervisor ensuring compliance with quality and safety management system requirements.
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, preparing audit finding reports, and determining appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Walk the warehouse and office building a minimum of twice a week and conduct quality and safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement in processes and to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers regarding quality-related matters.
  • Resolve customer complaints, including supplier failures, by investigating and analyzing product failures, and effectively communicating corrective and preventive actions to customers. This will involve customer site visits.
  • Plan, organize, and manage overall activities related to receiving/outgoing quality and safety functions.
  • Manage supplier performance and conduct supplier audits.
  • Prepare Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reports.
  • Develop quality reports for customers, such as the 8D report.
  • Lead and manage IATF/TS certification, including the management, maintenance, and auditing of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage the QMS system.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Mechanical preferred
  • Strong background in metal engine parts, including quality inspection and understanding of metal properties
  • Hands-on experience managing IATF and ISO audits – if certified in these areas that is a plus
  • Preferably, experience in Automotive Manufacturing and Cylinder Liner operations.
  • Experience working with international clients is highly desirable.
  • PCU components and metallic material experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a documented system of quality policies and procedures
