Carbon is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in our Redwood City, CA office. The ideal candidate shall be responsible for ensuring the quality of Carbon's hardware and accessories products. He/She shall put in place systems to proactively monitor field and production data to identify systemic trends which could indicate quality issues.
Additional Responsibilities
Develop and maintain quality control plans for parts and products
Develop Quality Control plans and perform tests for mechanical, electrical, and optical subassemblies.
Address quality issues that arise through efficient containment, detailed root cause investigations, and cross functional collaboration to ensure implementation of corrective actions
Collaborate with R&D on new development projects to ensure quality requirements are input into product requirements
Requirements
BS or MS in relevant engineering discipline
3+ years work experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work in a fast paced international environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skills
Quickbase, JMP, Statistical Process Control
Familiarity with Quality System standards such as ISO 9001
Knowledge of QC testing equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with and managing quality at Contract Manufacturers
Experience with mechanical, optical, and electrical metrology tools and the willingness to perform testing as needed
Formal training in problem solving techniques
