Cimarron is seeking
Quality Engineers to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the US Air Force's Sentinel (formally GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground-based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This is an onsite position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e. every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.
Key Duties
- Support the project engineering team to ensure overall inter-discipline coordination and quality of deliverables.
- Maintain project engineering procedures and involvement with the project quality and corrective action programs.
- Perform overall engineering design and engineering tasks, within a discipline, having some degree of complexity.
- Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data originated by other engineers or suppliers.
- Review multi-discipline engineering deliverables to ensure cohesiveness, coordination, and quality.
- Coordinate quality reviews of deliverable packages before submission to the customer.
- Obtain inputs and technical information from senior engineers across multiple disciplines for use in completing tasks.
- Develop and maintain project engineering procedures to ensure alignment with corporate procedures, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
- Perform self-assessments of the engineering department on adherence to the procedures.
- Develop and present training on procedures, miscellaneous policies, and instructions for engineering personnel.
- Identify, prepare, and report project engineering quality metrics and associated trends.
- Prepare and issue engineering quality reports.
- Present quality reports to management and customer personnel.
- Participate in project quality surveillance and audits.
- Coordinate Closed-Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) program project initiatives with project engineering personnel.
- Attend Condition Report Review Committee (CRRC) meetings as the engineering point of contact.
- Promote Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned programs, available in the DevonWay (or similar) application.
- Monitor timely closure of engineering condition reports and associated actions.
- Communicate quality issues to the engineering team in the form of positive feedback and lessons learned.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
- Coordinate with client representatives, as required.
- Lead small engineering task group(s), as required.
- Analyze processes and identify areas that can be improved.
- Maintain configuration management.
- Communicate changes to processes with the relevant engineers.
- Work as a part of a team to develop/optimize processes and procedures to meet the needs of the customer and ensure good quality.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education :

- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Prior experience in engineering for construction projects.
- Experience with quality assurance programs, such as ISO-9001D.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in the Microsoft 365 application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline from an accredited course of study and 5 or more years of related experience.
Desired Skills, Experience, And Education
- Experience in procedure and/or instruction review and analysis.
- Experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
- Familiarity with customer Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Engineering Department Procedure Instructions (EDPIs), design standards and guides, and customer Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- Knowledge of codes and standards pertinent to quality engineering.
- Experience presenting training material.
- Current (Not Expired) Professional Engineer’s License.
