Aegis is currently partnered with a major industrial equipment manufacturing company located in the Columbus, IN area. Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing setting and a passion for ensuring product quality and continuous improvement. As a key member of their team, you will play a crucial role in supporting new product development, managing supplier relationships, conducting quality audits, and collaborating with the quality laboratory.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support quality engineering activities to ensure product compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and the quality lab, to drive improvements in product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate and execute supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for new and existing products.
  • Analyze data, prepare reports, and provide actionable insights to address quality issues and drive process improvements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for quality-related issues with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Support the development and implementation of quality control procedures, standards, and documentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvements through ongoing audits and process reviews.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and supplier audits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience working with suppliers, conducting quality audits, and supporting new product development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
