Dart Casting manufactures high-pressure aluminum die castings and strives to meet strict process controls while achieving top quality on even the most difficult of parts. Our growing company is seeking to hire a Quality Engineer who will be responsible for providing guidance, supervision and training to our quality team. The Quality Engineer validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures. Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of the quality system(s) (currently ISO 9001:2015) This person also has the responsibility to act as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.

Responsibilities

  • With an emphasis on die casting, this is a hands-on position focusing on providing support to production departments that leads to the addressing and resolution of quality issues using effective problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Provides the same level of support to CNC and subcontract/supplier quality issues.
  • Lead problem solving teams to address customer complaints and internal quality issues.
  • Manage internal and external corrective actions and preventive actions using corrective action database and/or customer specific formats.
  • Utilize problem-solving tools to improve die cast process performance and reduce scrap.
  • Maintain, update, and train appropriate employees on manufacturing quality plans including inspection and control plans, as well as operator work instructions.
  • Disposition suspect product and materials using customer requirements and knowledge or product end use.
  • Analyze and interpret prints, data, manuals, and other materials to understand product requirements.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using several types of tools including micrometer, caliper, height gage and pin gages.
  • Train appropriate employees on the use of gaging, customer requirements, and quality plans and operator work instructions.
  • Issue and track RMA’s.
  • Communicate quality issues with suppliers and subcontractors and work with them to resolve performance issues.
  • Travel to suppliers and subcontractors, as needed or required.
  • Provide leadership in establishing a quality culture and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Provide guidance in interpreting ISO standards and internal policies to assure compliance and serve as an internal auditor, as assigned.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality relating to sensitive business, financial, and personnel issues.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personnel work activity is conducted in such a way as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
