A civil construction firm in San Francisco, CA is is seeking a Quality Control System Manager to join their team onsite. This role oversees the quality control program for a multi-phase federal construction project, managing day-to-day QA/QC operations, submittals, documentation, and coordination with subcontractors, consultants, and government personnel. They will also supervise project engineers and ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and documentation protocols. The ideal candidate brings government project experience, excellent communication skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Salary Range: $130,000 - $175,000 / year DOE
Quality Control System Manager Responsibilities
Manage overall project quality control program and oversee daily QA/QC activities
Interface regularly with government QA personnel to align on expectations and inspections
Observe daily work in place and ensure it meets quality standards and contract requirements
Review, prepare, and submit submittals to government entities
Coordinate with QC consultants and third-party testing agencies
Review and track subcontractor documentation and reports
Provide direction and oversight to project engineers
Monitor scheduling, documentation, and execution to prevent issues and delays
Promote a proactive “see something, say something” culture to identify potential quality concerns early
Ensure transparency, clear communication, and accountability across project teams
Quality Control System Manager Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
Minimum 5 years of construction quality control experience on government projects
Minimum 5 years of experience working with government-awarded contracts
Experience managing quality on construction projects ranging from $5M to $50M
Current or recent Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQMC) certification
Proficiency in RMS (Resident Management System)
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Valid state driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements
Proficiency in systems such as Heavy Job, Oracle P6, Microsoft Projects, Microsoft 365, and Bluebeam
