Our client is an established personal care products manufacturer specializing in shampoos, lotions, and liquid soaps. With a commitment to quality and innovation, they maintain high standards in their manufacturing processes while serving leading brands in the personal care industry. Their Ottawa facility operates with multiple production lines and employs a dedicated team focused on delivering premium quality products to their customers.


📋 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of 15 quality professionals, including 3 shift leads, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their professional growth
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of quality standards and procedures for all shifts
  • Verify critical-to-quality parameters including fill weights, lot codes, label integrity, and packaging specifications
  • Perform and oversee regular quality checks including first article inspection, end of line inspection, and hourly checks
  • Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues
  • Lead and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address product non-conformities
  • Create and execute rework plans, address hold items, and mitigate potential risks during production
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions
  • Generate detailed reports on quality metrics and trends for leadership
  • Ensure compliance with FDA and ISO standards while adhering to company policies and industry regulations


🔍 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or related scientific field
  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience in personal care products manufacturing preferred (candidates from pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered)
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP)
  • Experience with CAPA implementation and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of AQL principles and quality control processes
  • Experience participating in internal and external quality audits
  • Proficient in quality documentation and reporting
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and methodical problem-solving abilities


⏰ Schedule & Details

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM shift
  • On-call availability for quality issues during other shifts
  • On-site position at the Ottawa, Illinois facility
