Purpose:
This position will be responsible for assisting the Warehouse Operations Manager in overseeing warehouse operations with a focus on inventory control and quality control areas, however these tasks are not exclusive or exhaustive and the Floor Supervisor will be required to undertake other tasks as may be reasonably assigned. This position will also be responsible for troubleshooting recurring inventory issues, conducting daily inventory audits, holding daily pre-work meetings to communicate information to the team members and ensuring the accuracy of the inventory. This position may supervise a team of 3+ team members. The Floor Supervisor will coach team members on the importance of quality work performance and work to ensure superior customer service.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Two to five years of recent work experience
Excellent communications skills (Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently)
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be a self-starter to solve issues, increase efficiency and possess excellent customer service skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical equations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
Must be detail oriented and highly organized
OSHA and/or Class II, Class IV or Class V Forklift Certification preferred
Subject to National Security screening.
Essential Job Functions:
Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained
Assist in physical inventories
Conduct daily audits to maintain integrity of inventory
Track SOW costs to accurately charge back labor to vendors
Communicate via email and phone to stores regarding inventory discrepancies
Organization and prioritization of tasks and the ability to multi-task
Oversee and strategize dye lot tasks (specific shade requests for customers)
Develop and train Inventory Control Coordinators
Oversee and implement processes to research and recover missing product
Calculate dollar amount lost/gained to the DC due to errors
Ensure proper stock rotation and all supplies needed for the warehouse are available for use (RF units, batteries, equipment, etc.)
Supervise a team of 3 or more employees and their workflow to ensure maximum service levels are maintained
Document attendance and participate in reviews for team members, coach, train and mentor Distribution Center (DC) team members in the areas of productivity, quality and safety
Create and update reports via data entry for warehouse use and to manage Team’s performance
Coordinate with Inbound and Outbound Coordinators for planning and execution purposes
Handle and resolve conflict, process team member requests, engage team members proactively and help train team members, lead team building activities
Evaluate warehouse associates on picking and put-away procedures and monitors their progress
Update status of daily tasks, manage reports, team member assessments, issues or concerns, equipment status, and process adjustments as well as communicating to supply chain team about held product needs
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work Methods
Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
Ensure warehouse flow and planning
Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials and a clean, neat, and orderly work area
Working Conditions (travel & environment)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
