At Bitvavo we are expanding our Financial Crime department and are on the lookout for an experienced Quality Checker to join our team.

The #1 goal of this role is to ensure Bitvavo’s high-quality standards are maintained in the reports conducted by the Financial Crime Officers. Your knowledge and reporting experience helps Bitvavo to manage risks prudently and improves the quality of the officers by setting the quality standards. We are a growing organization and will look for your experience to be a coach to the Financial Crime Officers as we grow and mature. You are part of the Financial Crime Team and report to the Team lead Financial Crime.

What You’ll Do

The main objective of the role is to ensure that the Business operates within the risk appetite established by the Management Board. To do this you perform a second pair of eyes checks on the integrity investigations of the Financial Crime Officers. Day in and day out you assess and manage operational risks. Your responsibilities:

• Oversee the quality of investigations to prevent fraud, money laundering, terrorism financing and sanctions evasion. Protecting confidence in the company and the Bitvavo brand by assessing risks is an important aspect of your role
• Through your experience you coach the Financial Crime Officers to improve their quality and ensure uniformity within the Financial Crime team
• Create reports that provide insights to understand trends and form a basis for risk related decision-making
• Collaborating with other team members to establish and maintain best practices, policies and procedures and keep abreast of regulatory developments
• Come up with initiatives that contribute to the quality and efficiency of internal procedures
  
  

What You Bring To The Team

• Proven experience as a Quality Checker or similar role
• Strong knowledge of quality control standards and testing techniques
• Considerable experience in AML / TF / KYC either in the financial or fintech industry
• Be able to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner to support the growth of Financial Crime officers and the department
• Ability to apply your knowledge of external regulations to achieve the organization's goals while maintaining an independent position
• Eagerness to work in a fast-paced industry and company that grows in a rapid tempo
• Ability to deal with challenges, communicate on them and do your best to create opportunities out of them
• Entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in both Dutch and English (spoken and written)
