Project objectives
The key objectives for the Temenos re-implementation from R11 to R22 include ensuring a comprehensive and effective testing strategy, coordinating UAT and SIT phases, managing defects efficiently, leading the testing team, and implementing test management tools like JIRA and Xray. The project aims to achieve full system coverage, engage business users effectively, and ensure a smooth transition to the new system version while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Current state
We are currently implementing Transact R22 in Miami and Geneva branches, working in 2024 on developing the functionalities needed to meet business needs. During IT developing phase, SIT testing is executing. In parallel also automation testing is being developed for regression testing.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is planned for 2025 for Miami release.
Responsibilities and deliverables
The Testing Manager will be responsible for the following at each project milestone:
Banking industry experience
The Testing Manager must have 10+ years of experience in software testing within the banking industry. Experience in private banking and wealth management is also required. Hands-on experience with Temenos T24 is considered a plus.
Test management tools expertise
Strong knowledge of test management tools such as JIRA and Xray is required. The candidate must be able to use these tools to track test cases, defects, and progress reports, as well as support their implementation and train business users on their day-to-day use.
UAT and SIT coordination
For UAT and SIT coordination, the Testing Manager will work closely with business users to define UAT objectives and criteria. They will oversee the execution of test cases, support business users and testers during the execution, and analyze test results. The Testing Manager will coordinate UAT activities, ensuring users are properly engaged and trained. They will track UAT progress, collect feedback, and manage defect triage to ensure a smooth testing cycle. Feedback from business users during UAT phases is managed by tracking progress, collecting feedback, and managing defect triage to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
Defect management and compliance
The defect management process involves collaborating with the development team to analyze and resolve defects efficiently, understanding business priorities and the criticality of issues, prioritizing and escalating critical issues impacting project timelines, and ensuring defects are tracked, resolved, and re-tested within agreed timelines. There is no specific mention of compliance or regulatory requirements that need to be addressed.
Team structure
The Testing Manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring the testing team, overseeing both manual and automated testing efforts. The exact size and structure of the team are not specified, but the role involves ensuring efficient workload distribution and optimal resource utilization.
The Testing Manager is reporting to the Phoenix Program Director.
Training and support
The Testing Manager is expected to support the implementation of Jira/Xray within the bank, including training business users and providing day-to-day support. Additionally, the Testing Manager will oversee the implementation of the testing tool Katalon and frameworks for test management and execution.
Reporting and documentation
The Testing Manager will be responsible for generating and presenting test execution reports and incident resolution reports to stakeholders. They will ensure transparency in the testing process by providing regular status updates. Additionally, they will be required to produce a weekly report detailing the main achievements of the week, next tasks and outcomes, risks and issues, and actions that require escalation. A weekly time report with the hours to be invoiced will also be recorded in Jira and in Fluid.
On-site presence
The Testing Manager is expected to be located on-site in the Miami office.
