Core Responsibilities:

  • Craft & Implement Quality Frameworks: Design, establish, and uphold comprehensive quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards that align with industry best practices.
  • Lead Quality Assurance & Control: Oversee critical activities including product safety inspections, audits, sampling inspections, and process validations to maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, uncover areas for improvement, and drive informed decision-making.
  • Mentorship & Training: Empower and guide quality assurance staff, fostering adherence to quality standards and promoting continuous professional development.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, implement process improvements, and achieve cost savings.
  • Audit Leadership: Conduct both internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, reinforcing our commitment to quality.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Investigate customer complaints and collaborate with department managers to develop corrective and preventive actions, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present comprehensive quality documentation and reports, including trend analysis, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Laboratory Oversight: Manage the quality control laboratory, ensuring accurate testing and measurement of products and materials.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits.
  • Process Validation: Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality procedures.
  • Project Leadership: Participate in and lead projects resulting in streamlining processes, improvements, and cost savings.
  • Team Coordination: Direct and organize work priorities for quality technicians and assist in resolving team challenges to achieve daily goals.
  • Safety Stewardship: Establish and maintain safety operations by adhering to procedures and policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required to support the organization's quality objectives.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma, or ASQ-CQE are a plus.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong math skills, including algebra and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Strong independent decision-making abilities. Ethical conduct and excellent collaboration skills. Ability to solve critical problems and devise new methods or concepts.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Oversees quality assurance staff, including quality control technicians and quality assurance supervisors.


Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Office & Manufacturing Settings: Professional office environment with exposure to a manufacturing plant that is not environmentally controlled, experiencing changes in humidity and temperature throughout the year. Conditions are maintained within OSHA standards, monitored by the Safety Committee.
  • Physical Requirements: This position is mostly sedentary but may require some standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to work in front of a computer monitor for extended periods.
