The Quality Engineer II will collaborate closely with the Manufacturing team to ensure production meets both customer expectations and all internal and external quality standards (including ISO/AS). Success in this role requires strong alignment with and support for the company's core values.

Description
- Develop and maintain quality plans for both new and existing projects.
- Review and approve quality plans and work instructions during production and at project completion, ensuring they are thorough and complete.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive the implementation of necessary changes.
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, addressing dispositions and corrective actions as required.
- Issue and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), ensuring corrective actions are implemented and verified.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop rework processes when needed.
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) as necessary.
- Partner with suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce scrap and rework, and improve cost efficiency and lead times.
- Identify and implement opportunities for Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis.
- Oversee calibration activities for measuring equipment, working with external vendors as needed.
- Manage and process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
- Assemble and prepare certification packages for outgoing production shipments.
- Review and approve supplier-provided certifications for incoming materials or components.
- Consistently uphold and promote the company's core values.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2-5 yrs of prior experience in quality engineering, ideally within aerospace machining or contract manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience developing in-process inspection and control plans.
- Background collaborating with engineering or machining teams to resolve production defects.
- Familiarity with applying quality tools and improvement methodologies in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
- Working knowledge of one or more quality management standards such as ISO or AS.
