Job Summary  



Role and Responsibilities  



  • Determines how to test a feature at an epic level, Creates test documentation (test cases). Able to provide test execution status report. Understands process steps of work. Able to break down work into the process steps
  • Support team initiatives.
  • Creates and Maintains Project Test Plan to ensure test scope, assumptions, risks, test schedules are properly documented. Defines test scope for the features within the project. Determines how to test a feature at the project level. Analyzes scope and nature of project changes to determine all relevant test types, including functional and non-functional testing
  • Perform QA specific tasks following standard operating procedures; provide feedback on procedures and help improve the process.
  • Drive resolution of problems of medium complexity and team-based scope.
  • Represent the team in routine communications with clients and within the organization.
  • Coach and train newer team members on job specific roles and processes.
  • Drive small team improvement initiatives.

Required Qualification & Education 

  • Proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills
  • University Degree with 2-4 years of experience in the domain. Masters/Graduate degree and 0-2 years experience in domain.

Required Skills & Competencies 

  • Understands platform and interdependencies when the platform is being changed
  • Able to debug issues reported by others to identify root cause of a failure
  • Able to translate stories into testable requirements for validation of how a user accomplishes a task
  • Thinks outside of the box, and finds ways to break something that’s working within the project under test
  • Can manage their time and workload. Able to unblock themselves
  • Regularly proposes process improvements
  • Basic leadership and project management skills
  • Able to liaise with clients on difficult matters in a professional manner.
  • Big picture thinking that drives team to meet organizational goals and provides team based improvements.

Required Software Knowledge 

  • Working knowledge in Software QA Engineering specific tool sets
  • Expertise in MS Office MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF toolsets

Preferred Experience 

  • Expertise in Quality Assurance specific activities
  • Experience in customer service
  • Process improvement experience
  • Experience in the green energy or utilities domain
  • Experience with a U.S. based company

Preferred Skills & Competencies 

  • Probes appropriate sources for relevant information and answers to key questions; demonstrates persistence and skill in gathering information. Understands levels of inclusion necessary for ownership and effective action
  • Able to own the completion of their tasks within a reasonable project-defined deadline
  • Acts with stakeholders in mind and considers customer service of paramount importance
  • Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements, and integrates them into business processes to address the business needs.
