Consolidated Precision Products (CPP Cudahy) is a high alloy sand casting foundry that has been in operations for over 50 years. We manufacture alluminum components for the defense and commercial markets. CPP Cudahy is a fast -paced manufacturing company currently seeking a driven Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team.

The Quality Engineer will be working cooperatively in a team environment to support development of robust manufacturing processes and quality systems to support the company’s growth in the industrial and aerospace casting markets.
Quality system and problem-solving skills are essential to the job. Quality engineers will beresponsible for ensuring the quality system, manufacturing, inspection and test processes, and product characteristics comply with both customer requirements and governmental regulations. You will also be a key member of the QA team, providing feedback on quality issues and facilitating nonconforming material and corrective action activities. This position is one that requires the employee to obtain various customer-required certifications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop, maintain, and advance CPP quality systems, procedures, and practices
Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, reports, and basic working knowledge of GD&T
Communicate with customers to resolve/address quality system concerns/inquires
Use problem solving tools and techniques to increase profitability
Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results
Participation during customer/external audits including preparation, guidance, and closure
Active participation in continuous improvement efforts
Responsible for quality enforcement of casting manufacturing process. Continuous improvement of process/product such that castings meet or exceed customer expectations
Support the identification of process yield issues using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process that are not maintained in a controlled fashion
Generate quality shipment documentation including certificates of conformance and other quality audit checklists
Drive closure of preventative/corrective actions, customer returns/inquires
Manage resolution of non-conforming material/processes
Contract review in adherence with CPP standards and practices
Coordinate with engineering team applicable qualification documentation and data submittal packages
Interact with CPP NDT level III personnel to ensure product compliance
Good written communication skills are required to develop internal job instructions
Support Gage R&R studies, process capability, SPC, correlation and other data related statistical activities
Document quality work procedures and processes
Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved
Maintain a positive work atmosphere with respect and communication in a professional manner
Utilize basic engineering skills to approach problems analytically and derive sound conclusions
Good verbal communication skills and can feel at ease communicating with customers and engineering groups
Familiar with FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP documentation
The candidate must be able to travel periodically to other CPP facilities, customers, and vendors to provide problem-solving and technical/audit support.
Salary Range: $80-100K DOE
Exempt/Full time Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of quality and quality systems, such as AS9100 or NADCAP.
2- 5 years of work experience in an foundry or related field
Familiarity with the investment casting industry and related processes is desirable
Familiar with FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP documentation
Strong communication skills, good PC skills, program management skills
Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing a plus
Able to work independently with minimal directions
