Department: Food Safety and Quality

Hours: 5am-3:30pm Mon – Thur.

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Associate is primarily based on the production floor and maintains our product quality standards. The position demands proficiency in both Spanish and English for clear cross-departmental communication and report writing. This position is responsible for enforcing compliance with our process controls and conducting personnel trainings to ensure SOPs are being followed. This role reports to our Chief Development Officer in charge of Food Safety and Quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • GMP and Compliance Activities:
  • Maintain daily scale calibration logs to ensure equipment accuracy.
  • Manage the sharps log as appropriate.
  • Conduct environmental testing, including swabbing and recording results.
  • Run appropriate ATP testing on machines after cleaning per production log.
  • Resolve non-conformance issues as they arise.
  • Learn and apply GMP basics to ensure proper training is conducted.
  • Maintain and update Food Safety and QC documents as necessary to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Verify batch staging processes as required.
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA) Documentation and Testing:
  • Conduct COA testing for blended bulk products according to established procedures.
  • Perform COA testing for specific ingredients used in our processes.
  • Ensure COAs are received for all incoming ingredients, where applicable.
  • Perform other laboratory tests periodically as required.
  • Material Handling and Production Support:
  • Pull necessary blended bulk and packaging from the warehouse for production.
  • Ensure all materials are correctly identified and documented before use in production.
  • Assist with initial assessment and approval of incoming raw materials in collaboration with established protocols.
  • Review inventory of PPE materials is sufficient for production needs.


Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and production demands.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to undergo drug testing in specific scenarios.
  • HACCP Certification (can be obtained after hiring).


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • HACCP or Food Safety Certification.
  • Experience in training program development and management.
  • High level of self-motivation and performance orientation.
  • Proficient in using PC software (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Forklift certified.
