What You'll Do
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be interacting with business analysts, developers, system testers and business users to system test a complex system and to ensure that business expectations are met and quality software is deployed to production. You will utilize oral and written communication in your everyday tasks as well as take full advantage of your familiarity with Object Oriented programming and testing concepts.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Creating detailed test plans
* Mapping requirements for traceability to test scenarios
* Executing tests to identify any defects
* Working through the defect lifecycle to resolution process
* Provide UAT support by answering questions, assisting in their test planning and test execution
* Participate in certifying software for deployment
* Create testing metrics and software deployment activities
* Identify repetitive tests scenarios for automation
Schedule: 8 hour shift, between 7am-6pm as determined in consultation with supervisor, Monday through Friday. This position will be required to work outside normal work hours and scheduled shift in the event of emergencies and service outages.
Travel: No regular travel expected.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
OPTION 1:
* 48 months work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation
AND
* 12 months work experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance tools (e.g., Load Runner, Selenium, DevOps, JMeter, etc.)
Option 2:
* 30 months work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation
AND
* 12 months work experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance tools (e.g., Load Runner, Selenium, DevOps, JMeter, etc.)
AND
* Completion of Associate's core program in Computer Science or Information Systems
Option 3:
* 24 months work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation
AND
* 12 months work experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance tools (e.g., Load Runner, Selenium, DevOps, JMeter, etc.)
AND
* Completion of undergraduate core program in Computer Science or Information Systems
Or
* Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio's OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 34. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $35.31 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
