Reporting to the Team Lead, Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst will join the QA team responsible for reviewing on-boarding, SAM/WLF Alerts, and periodic review financial crime processes. The QA Analyst ensures that analysts are adhering to the established procedures, due diligence requirements and risk appetite as per our Group Financial Crime Minimum Standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Conducting reviews of financial crime processes using the established methodology
• Providing regular reporting on the findings of the reviews to senior stakeholders
• Identifying trends, gaps and learnings through the review process and providing regular feedback sessions to the team of analysts, as well as escalating these thematic issues to senior stakeholders for review
• Ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken where undue risks/issues are identified
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, standards and procedures as well as ad hoc compliance requirements, leveraging knowledge and experience to help develop the proficiency of the team of analysts
• Building and sustaining effective relationships by working with units and business partners
• providing feedback of findings to team and manager for future opportunities to improve support
• Understanding how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
• Contributing to the overall development of the Financial Crime Centre of Excellence
• Meeting obligations with respect to all regulatory and compliance obligations
Your qualifications and skills include:
• University degree or appropriate industry experience
• Detailed understanding of financial crime and compliance regulations
• Financial crime/compliance qualifications (e.g. ACAMS) are desirable
• experience in reviewing and assessing financial crime processes from a risk-based perspective
• strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Working knowledge of banking products, services, banking systems, customer and account static data
• Self-starter with the ability to work as a team member
• Adept at report writing and presenting findings
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Excellent organization skills with proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks
• Ability to work outside office hours when required to meet deadlines
• Proficient in use and understanding of Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
