Georgia-Pacific is currently looking for a
Quality Analytical Lab Manager in Decatur, GA. The Decatur center houses Georgia-Pacific building products’ division quality, R&D and technical services and includes a state-of-the-art analytical lab with extensive application testing capabilities. What You Will Do
- Internalize, exemplify, & leverage PBM™ to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Foster strong, mutually beneficial relationships between operations, manufacturing, and innovation teams through collaboration and proactive knowledge sharing.
- Drive lab capability transformation ensuring proper management of change, training, documentation and prioritization.
- Strategically balance competing priorities and testing requests to ensure the team is working on the highest priority work.
- Verify all equipment is safe to operate, calibrated, and all JHAs & SOPs are up to date and accurate.
- Ensure all raw material & finished product testing meets GP & ASTM standards and is completed on time.
- Be disciplined in your approach with housekeeping, standard work and priority setting.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate a team.
- Travel, when necessary for projects or plant support. (5-10%)
What Will Put You Ahead?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in analytical chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with GC, IC, HPLC, and/or XRD/XRF across multiple industries.
- Experience in wallboard or plasters manufacturing.
