Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree. Job Title: Quality Analyst, Senior Location: San Diego Job Overview: Provide an overview of the department and responsibilities/job duties of the position. Centralized, professional scan team supporting all business units to analyze internally developed and inbound third party software code for compliance with open source licenses, commercial licenses, and standards. Using a variety of software tools, review and annotate code according to defined guidelines and resolve scan projects with minimal escalations to the Open Source Group. Prepare reports of scan findings, research open issues, and request additional information from stakeholders in Engineering, Program Management, Product Management, Business Unit Legal and Open Source Group. Track and report on status. Monitor product roadmaps and interact with release readiness/approval process. Manage automated scanning workflow. Document software metadata and usage guidance in databases. Expected to work with limited guidance to resolve issues of moderate complexity relating to any aspect of scan projects. Minimum Qualification: Please provide minimum qualifications which are quantifiable (3+ years doing this) and searchable on a resume and avoid subjective phrases that cant be viewed or measured based upon looking at a resume. This team is a group that works with both legal and software development teams to help review intellectual property Resource will Primarily abstract and enter data (think medical or legal type) - looking at data and entering into a form. Will then use that info to create reports * Excel experience is key (developing or using macros in excel, creating formula in excel, making entries to cells, sorting, etc) Manage projects in ticketing system experience in ticketing would be helpful (maybe IT support ticketing) The types of teams and types of domain areas the team works with intellectual property with a legal team, open-source software teams, project management teams. Need experience working with a lot of teams and different types of people. Looking for 5 years of work experience work experience is more important that education experience Need analytical capabilities dont need engineer experience Its helpful if they understand software licensing, the team can teach them the open-source portion. But someone will have a leg up if they understand open-source licensing and projects. Skills as an analyst in Medical, legal, financial area is more important than open-source experience Experience abstracting and entering into forms as an analyst is portable across various business domains Dont want to see software developers this would be a boring job for someone that wants to write software Someone highly technical or wants to be an engineer wouldnt be the job for them Day to day This person would be assigned a set of tickets to determine where they need to go in the review system. Will Look at flagged info and make determinations about categories. Then those categories feed into developing reports. Resource would then review with legal team or software team. As they become more skilled, will be trained on other tasks as well Most of time spent Looking at software and making categorizations Using excel to generate and format reports Speaking with legal team and software team and translating between the two to help each team understand what is needed Comments for Suppliers: 12 month assignment. Hybrid, must be local. Onsite 2 days/week, Tuesday & Wednesday. May work onsite more days, if desired. The QCST team does not expect an engineering background. Other requests from related teams at Qualcomm may have requested engineers, but that is not a requirement for the QCST Sr. QA. In addition, please note that our minimum requirements are 3 years of experience, with 5 years preferred (but not required).
