Job Description Summary
The QA/QC Engineer prepares Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s) and other project quality documents to ensure compliance with Customer’s specifications, Flowserve’s quality requirements and applicable International Standards.
Performs documented inspections to verify conformance of parts to applicable drawings, procedures, specifications and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for defining, advising and controlling all project required QC documents.
Supports development, implementation and utilization of quality control programs, procedures and systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepares ITP’s (Inspection Test Plans) for the contractual scope of supply to ensure compliance with Flowserve quality standards, Customer’s contractual specifications and applicable International Standards and Directives.
- Prepares and submits Quality Procedures as per the Customers’ Specifications and/or authorized inspection body’s requirements.
- Communicates with Suppliers & other functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, production, and field service/repair to ensure quality requirements are captured in ITP as requested by Customer in their specifications.
- Attends project meetings to ensure the quality requirements are clarified, understood and met: Pass/Phase Gate Meetings, PIM (Pre-Inspection Meeting) along with Customer/End-user, periodic project meetings with Stakeholders, KOM with Vendors of main buyouts, etc.
- Supports Other Quality Assurance activities like Supplier Audit & Assessment Activities.
- Works on processes and documents to ensure compliance with International Standards and Directives like CE, ATEX, etc.
- Identifies quality requirements to be included in procurement specifications.
- Reviews and approves ITP’s, manufacturing and testing documents/procedures from suppliers. Ensures alignment with internal quality standards and Customers’ requirements.
- Partners with QC incoming, in-process and final inspection to assure Quality compliance in the site.
- Leads the execution of witnessed inspections contractually required by Customer.
- Supports internal and external audits and conducts various quality control spot / regular inspections on products as required during problem analysis. Identifies corrective actions and areas of improvement (internal, external and supplier) and develops quality improvement programs utilizing quality tools and statistical techniques.
- Documents dimensional and visual inspections to the drawing or applicable procedures. Documents non-conforming material utilizing NCR process.
- Prepares project Quality Books.
- Reviews and verifies internal and external qualifications of suppliers, welders, NDE personnel regarding Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE), welding procedures and/or other applicable requirements.
- Works in applicable quality systems.
Required Experience/Qualifications And Skills
- Quality experience in manufacturing environment. Preferably rotating equipment manufacturing.
- Knowledge in CE Marking Directives and Regulations (including but not limited to ATEX).
- Proficiency in various standards like API, ASME, ASTM etc.
- Knowledge on inspection equipment used in machining, assembly and test activities and associated accessories.
- Proficiency in non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques and procedures.
- Preferably certified internal/Lead Auditor 9001:2015.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
