Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive freelance QA Test Engineer to join our team. As our first QA professional, you will be pivotal in refining our testing/automation framework and maintaining high-quality standards for our products. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure our software meets and exceeds user expectations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Take an exploratory approach to design, develop, and execute testing based on product requirements and technical specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test scripts, and test data.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including refinement, implementation, and deployment.
  • Advocate for best practices in quality assurance and help establish QA processes and standards.
  • Perform regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Support business users with user acceptance testing.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback to the development team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA methodologies and tools.


Your expertise

  • Proven experience as a QA Tester, QA Engineer, or similar role.
  • Experience setting up QA processes from scratch across various testing types (functional, integration, regression, UAT, exploratory, performance, security).
  • Experience testing web and API-based applications in a microservice/service-oriented environment.
  • Experience with manual testing and familiarity with automated testing tools.
  • Experience with HTML and TypeScript/JavaScript for E2E testing.
  • Solid understanding of software development and QA methodologies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to quickly understand complex systems and identify edge cases and risks.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Cypress and Playwright
  • Experience with greenfield/replatforming initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • ISTQB, TMAP, or similar certification.
