Job Description:
As a Manual QA Tester for Shopify websites and apps, you will collaborate closely with developers and project managers to ensure that our e-commerce solutions are seamless, user-friendly, and meet high-quality standards before release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-browser testing: Ensure consistent functionality and design across major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).
- Responsive testing: Validate that Shopify stores and apps work seamlessly across devices (mobile, tablet, desktop).
- Regression testing: Perform tests to ensure new changes do not break existing functionality and critical features.
- Functional testing: Execute test cases for new features, plugins, and integrations to ensure they meet functional requirements.
- Bug tracking and reporting: Identify, document, and report defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
- Collaboration with developers: Work closely with the development team to provide feedback, reproduce bugs, and confirm fixes.
- Third-party integration testing: Test and validate the integration of third-party apps, payment gateways, and shipping solutions with Shopify stores.
- Test case creation: Develop and execute test cases based on project requirements and user stories.
- User experience validation: Ensure Shopify stores and apps meet high-quality standards, providing an optimal user experience.
Required Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in manual QA testing, specifically for e-commerce platforms (Shopify experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of cross-browser testing and ensuring compatibility across major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
- Experience with responsiveness testing on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices using browser developer tools, emulators, and real devices.
- Familiarity with unit testing concepts, although this is not a coding-heavy role.
- Strong understanding of regression testing and creating detailed test cases.
- Proven ability to identify and document bugs, using tools such as JIRA, Trello, or similar issue tracking software.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly document and report issues.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with Shopify's Liquid template language and Shopify's app ecosystem.
- Experience with API testing and third-party integrations (e.g., payment gateways, shipping apps).
- Understanding of Shopify themes, plugins, and how customizations are handled in Shopify stores.
Technical Skills:
- Cross-browser testing tools (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, etc.)
- Bug tracking tools (JIRA, Trello, Asana)
- Responsive testing tools (Chrome DevTools, Responsinator, Browser DevTools)
- Familiarity with Shopify themes, Liquid, Shopify Plus, and Shopify Admin is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
