The Role
Python Developer at Oodle Car Finance.
We are looking for a Python Developer with 3+ years of experience to join our Loan Processing team. You will be joining a relatively small team with big ambitions, offering a lot of opportunities for growth and specialisation. You will work close to Java developer and Data Science team to build and support the infrastructure behind our Credit Risk Management proposition. You will be managed by an Engineering Manager, who is responsible for the team's output and career development.
This is a full-stack role. You can work remotely with occasional trips into the office to meet with the team, but you can be based anywhere in the UK. You must have the right to work in the UK.
Oodle has offices in Manchester, London, and Oxford. Many of your team mates are London based.
🛠️Our Technology:
Our solution is mainly created using FastAPI, Pandera, Pandas, and Pydantic. The team support a microservice architecture that connects Data Science models to Java Microservices responsible of the orchestration of the Loan Processing journey.
Your day-to-day work
- Collaborate with product managers, and developers to deliver both new functionality and iterative improvements to our Loan Processing system.
- Work on an extensible and testable architecture
- Review code built by your team
- Collaborate and contribute to shared tooling
- Actively participate in your team's Scrum ceremonies
- Support the Data Science team providing the correct infrastructure.
Essential Requirements for the Role
- Good knowledge of Python 3 and its best practices
- Familiarity with the libraries/tools listes in "Our Technology"
- Advocating automation test and familiarity with Pytest.
- Experience in building and maintaining microservices
- Experience implementing REST API's
- Experience with git version control, as well as modern IDE (Pycharm)
- Not afraid of documentation, willing to experiment with new ideas and technologies
- Familiar to Docker, AWS, Github actions
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Attention to detail.
- Creativity, passion and knowledge. You are hungry to learn about what others are doing, as well as get immersed in what Oodle does.
- The ability to problem-solve. You enjoy working in a team, and independently, to solve problems in a robust and scalable way
