Job Title: Purchasing/Estimating Manager

Position Overview
The Purchasing/Estimating Manager will oversee the procurement and estimation processes for residential land development projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining high quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil construction and land development, along with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the purchasing and estimating team in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers for residential land development projects.
- Develop and manage budgets for land development projects, ensuring cost-effective strategies are implemented.
- Conduct thorough estimates for project costs, including materials, labor, and other expenses associated with residential development.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to achieve the best pricing and terms.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to align on project timelines and resource allocation.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new materials in civil construction to inform purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies during the purchasing and estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing and estimating within the residential land development sector.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction practices and land development processes.
- Proven experience managing budgets and financial forecasting for construction projects.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with software tools for estimating and project management.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
