In this role, you'll oversee the writing and editing of all print and electronic publications and special projects for the college's Office of Marketing and Communications. You'll supervise the Communications Coordinator, serve as backup to the Executive Director, and be the final editor for Dentistry News, our online news site. This role includes research, writing, editing, design and photography direction, proofing, and concept development. You'll also support development activities, media relations, and special event planning and execution. Join us and be a key player on our Marketing and Communications team! A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education. As one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in the nation, the Texas A&M University Health Science Center encompasses five colleges and numerous centers and institutes working together to improve health through transformative education, innovative research and team-based health care delivery. Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience: Eight years of related experience in publishing The well-qualified candidate will also possess * Knowledge of editing, publishing, and graphics software and computer-based electronic publishing techniques and tools * Knowledge of word processing and design applications. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Strong editing skills * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills * Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others What you need to know Proposed Salary: $5,667.67 - $7,285.20 monthly, commensurate to the selected hire's experience. Schedule/Location: Located in Dallas, TX, this an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. What you need to do Apply! Submit a resume/cv and cover letter. Responsibilities * Publications: Gather, write, edit, and distribute news about accomplishments of Texas A&M College of Dentistry faculty, students, and staff for use in internal and external publications and news releases, including publications projects of the A&M System Health Science Center. Serve as senior project manager and primary editor and primary editor for all COD external and internal publications and news releases. Manages the development and delivery of publication and report formats. Establishes style guidelines, publication procedures, and standards for quality control. Support overall development and communications activities, such as media relations and special event planning and execution. * Supervision: Supervise Communications Coordinator and serve as back up to the Director. Supervises publication staff to include hiring, resolving personnel issues, conducting performance appraisals, and coordinating professional development. * Budget: Prepares and manages unit budget. Develops scope of work, participates in contract negotiation, and/or maintenance of subcontracts. Formulates unit policies. Why Texas A&M University?
