IA Interior Architects is looking to hire a dynamic Public Relations Coordinator with 2 plus experience in the communications field. The coordinator will report to the Director of Communications and play a critical role in the firm’s public relations efforts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: media pitches, written PR collateral, research for publication outreach, media list maintenance, direct interaction with project teams to gather pertinent project information, and assistance in award and speaking proposal submissions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
- Assist the Director of Communications in proactive media plan and pitch development, as well as responding to inbound press requests
- Assist in national speaking proposal and award submissions
- Research new media outlets, conferences, and award programs
- Interview our project leaders to draft project narratives for pitching purposes
- Market research on current trends for thought leadership development
- Social Media editing and proof-reading
- Press release and announcement drafting
- Award and Event calendar maintenance
- Article and white paper drafting on behalf of firm leadership
Required Education And Work Experience
- BA in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in public relations, journalism and/or marketing.
- Experience at PR agency and strong writing skills are preferred.
- Advanced MS Office application skills, including PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into straightforward, non-technical language.
- Strong editing and proof-reading skills, including proven ability to draft and edit press releases, pitch materials (i.e., project descriptions) and awards submittals.
- Familiarity with the architecture and design industry is a plus
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 based on industry experience & education
