We are seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is passionate about providing high quality care to children, adolescents and adults.
About The Role
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, you’ll use your training, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills in providing compassionate care for patients. Responsibilities include:
- Assess, diagnose and treat children, adolescents and adults experiencing symptoms of a behavioral health disorder
- Complete all applicable screening tools with interpretation
- Prescribe, recommend or discontinue medications and treatments to treat mental, emotional or behavioral disorders
- Educate patients and families about mental health and emotional disorders
- Offer individual and group therapy for patients across the age spectrum
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication and behavioral interventions
- Diagnose mental illnesses based on assessment
You will be primarily based at our Riverway location, 1569 Niagara Street in Buffalo.

Education And Skills To Be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- New York State licenses as both a registered nurse and a Nurse Practitioner
- Certification by a national certifying agency in the appropriate field
- Able to read, write and speak the English language; a second language of Spanish preferred
What We Offer
Compensation: $110,000 - $115,000 annually (based on a full-time, 40 hour work week)
Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components

Tuition Reimbursement Potential: Our FQHC status provides a unique opportunity for tuition reimbursement for Nurse Practitioners, up to $50,000 for a full time commitment and up to $25,000 for a part time commitment. A two-year commitment to serve at a FQHC is required. This tuition reimbursement program requires application and is not guaranteed.
