Kalmar is seeking a skilled
Prototype Technician to join our development team. This hands-on role focuses on the construction, reworking, and maintenance of mobile equipment prototypes, supporting innovation in heavy equipment design and testing.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Assemble prototype and low-volume products
- Inspect components and sub-assemblies for quality
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic issues
- Conduct product and durability testing
- Build test rigs for component trials
- Support process and product development
- Assist in engineering tests and proof-of-concept trials
- Maintain workshop standards and comply with H&S procedures.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
- Technician-level or equivalent.
Experience
- 5+ years in assembly or prototype workshop
- Experience with heavy equipment.
Skills
- Mechanical assembly in quality-controlled environments
- Fault-finding, diagnostics, and testing
- Ability to follow procedures, read schematics, and create documentation.
