GE Grid Automation extends activities in Latvia following the growth of the business in transmission and industry. We’re looking for strong and ambitious candidates capable to contribute to successful execution of project portfolio.

Job Description

The main responsibilities for this position are:

• Configuration and commissioning of protection systems in electrical HV substations,
• verify the design against local regulations,
• act as Grid Automation focal point and lead technical discussions with project stakeholders,
• coordinate calculation of protection setpoints,
• support developing design documentation,
• recommend solutions which both meet the requirements and protect GE Vernova interests,
• technical support for the project management team, as well as sales and tendering,
• customer trainings (presentations, hands-on training),
• aftersales support to clients, including site missions on demand.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education:
• Technical High School Diploma of a relevant faculty of protection, electrical engineering
• Experience:
• sound and working experience in power systems, specifically transmission, in the field of protection relays;
• knowledge of HV/MV systems, standards, specifications, requirements, communication protocols, etc.;
• acquaintance of GE range of HV/MV protection relays, Micom Px40, Multilin UR will be a plus;
• experience in computer networks, switches, routers, gateways, etc. will be a plus
• sound interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse groups of stakeholders, both external and internal;
• Specific knowledge:
• Fluent Latvian language;
• English command to effectively communicate with multinational customers and other GE functions abroad;
• Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information;
  

The position involves 50% time travelling. Hybrid working mode (office/home office).
